What is Polygon Ecosystem Token?

Polygon Ecosystem Token (POL) Polygon is a side chain created to complement the Ethereum blockchain and solve scalability issues including rising fees and slow processing speeds. The Polygon chain has a bridge function that allows the transfer of funds between different blockchains, including Ethereum, and offers relatively low fees for transactions on its native chain. POL is the native token of the Polygon PoS chain. There is also an ERC-20 version of POL on the Ethereum chain, which bitFlyer supports. Users can easily bridge the native POL and the Ethereum-based POL 1:1 through a dedicated site. Additionally, on a separate site, users can upgrade Ethereum-based MATIC to Ethereum-based POL at a 1:1 ratio. Within the ecosystem and across all chains, POL is expected to serve multiple purposes, such as validator rewards. By holding POL, users can participate as validators, submit improvement proposals, and contribute to the network’s growth.
